David Meyers has been building fine reproduction and custom furniture out of his home in NH since 1999. He and his wife Barbara and their 2 children, Amy and MacKenzie, chose the community of Gilford to build their house and business. It is here that David made the decision to use his gift of craftsmanship to build a business. Not only would this business allow him to do what he loves, but it would allow him to be at home with his children.
Although only in business for a short time, David has been interested in wood and particularly in period furniture and homes for many years. Before beginning his work with furniture, David built his family two beautiful homes; one a custom cape and the other a beautiful reproduction saltbox. The family also serves as his in-house customer focus group as well as his quality control department. Not only is quality important to David, but it is equally important to his son MacKenzie who upon receiving a night stand for his bedroom promptly sent it back stating that he wanted it as smooth on top as the one in the master bedroom.
The saltbox is currently home and also serves as his workshop. When necessary, it also becomes his showroom. When not in the workshop, David is getting two children up and ready for school, driving them to and fro and attending sports and school related events. When Mom returns from work in the evenings, Dave retreats happily to the workshop for evenings of quality time with his projects.
David Meyer's furniture can be found locally at Sharps Lumber in Ashland, New Hampshire as well as at the League of NH Craftsmen in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. In November 2005 David had a number of pieces displayed in the Zonta Christmas House.
